About Our Endowment Program

God has called us to first love Him with our whole being, and then to love one another in the same way. We can respond to that calling as a body of believers, sharing the responsibility for continuing the ministry of Jesus.  Using the gifts God has given to us, we can better the lives of others, and provide opportunities for us all to become even closer to Him on our walk through life.

There is something new to announce. Scroll down to take a look.

How will the MPC Endowment be used?

The Endowment Fund has been established to generate funds for the future needs of the church. It is important to remember that contributions to the Endowment do not replace your regular gifts and pledges to MPC. There will be four designated funds within the MPC Endowment, which will be maintained separate and apart from the funds normally used by the church.  Following is a brief description of the four ministries to be supported as funds become available through the Endowment.

Monument Ministries Fund:

This fund will be used to further ministries “within our walls” such as Music, Worship, Youth Ministry, Christian Education, Evangelism and Out

Capital Improvement and Debt Reduction:

This fund may be used for construction, repair, refurbishing as well as purchase of new equipment.  Debt reduction will be considered very carefully and only rarely.

Mission Fund:

This mission portion of the Endowment will be used for “outside” ministries such as support for other charitable organizations, individual and group missionaries, underserved populations,college/seminary scholarships, new church development, etc.

Benevolence Fund:

Worthy causes may arise from time to time that do not readily fit within the first three Funds.  The Board, in its discretion may use Benevolence Funds for needs that it deems worthy.  In response to our calling, we, the MPC Endowment Board members will carry out the work of the Board, using these gifts in a manner that is pleasing to Jesus Christ.

Please feel free to contact any of the Board members (Angela Christensen, Laura Hilderley, Gail Tuohig,  Shari Wilson, Sam Walker) for further information.

Exciting News and an Opportunity

This mission portion of the Endowment will be used for “outside” ministries such as support for other charitable organizations, individual and group missionaries, underserved populations,college/seminary scholarships, new church development, etc.

The Endowment Board has just announced receipt of a generous donation of $5,000.00 to be used as a MATCHING GIFT FUND!  This means that any amount you donate to the Endowment over the next several months will be DOUBLED  until the entire $5,000.00 match has been met.

This gift was given by Marje Bacheldor and Laura Hinderley to honor the memory of their late mother, a life-long learner and dedicated educator of young children.

Donations to the MPC Endowment may be undesignated, or designated to any of the four ministries that are supported by the Endowment. You need not be a member of MPC to participate, and gifts are tax deductible.

If you have been thinking about how you might support the Endowment, now is the perfect time to begin by DOUBLING your gift through this Matching Gift opportunity.

Please contact any Board member with your questions about the Matching Gift process, or the Endowment itself. We look forward to hearing from you!
