Community Volunteers

Recognizing, encouraging, and equipping mission done by church members.

While MPC has six officially recognized mission partners, the truth is that mission is done in a myriad of ways. There are as many ways to do mission in service of Christ's Kingdom as there are people in the world. As a church, we want to recognize, support, pray for, and equip anyone doing mission - even if it isn't one of the six officially designated partners. The "Community Partnerships" liaison helps us identify and lift up such individuals.

Is there a mission or ministry you are passionate about? Then go out there and serve with that one. Community volunteers are members of the congregation who feel called to serve a mission or ministry that is not officially supported by MPC. The most important thing is that the members of MPC go out into the world to serve others and share the good news in Jesus name. Community Volunteers are a way of recognizing such individuals.

Some examples of ways to get involved

Already volunteering? Keep it up!

Maybe you are already serving with some organization that you love - that is wonderful. Let the community volunteers liaison know about your work so that we can pray for you and support you as the church is able. We'd love to highlight your ministry in the church newsletter and even in a short presentation on Sunday.

Volunteer with a ministry you love

Do you love a specific ministry in the valley but it isn't one of our designated mission partners? Don't let that stop you! Volunteer in whatever capacity you can with that ministry and let our mission liaison know.

Go on a mission trip

While our church currently does not have any church-sponsored short term mission trips, you can still go on one. Talk with the community volunteer liaison about finding a good short term mission agency to partner with and serve for a week or two across the globe.

“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not have same function, so in Christ we, though we are many, form one body... We have different gifts according to the grace given to each of us."
