Food Ministries

Giving out of Abundance!

Food Ministry encompasses a wide range of needs and opportunities. The food bank needs foodstuff and volunteers, as does Catholic Outreach, Kids Aid, Child and Migrant Services and the homeless shelters. At Christ Center, we serve kids—hungry for home-cookin’ and the fellowship of believers. “Many hands make light work,” and the fellowship makes it fun!

Christ exhorts us to invite those who cannot repay us to the banquet we have prepared. Food ministry is a way of doing that - whether serving the homeless and hungry or simply providing for college students in need of fellowship and a free meal. The goal is to serve and provide in abundance.

Some Examples of ways to get involved

Simple Involvement- Huge Impact

Donations of food and dollars are simple ways to have a huge impact. Food for the wagon, food and/or dollars for the Shelter meals and the CMU dinners, supporting Empty Bowls by purchasing tickets, sponsoring meals or a full season for KidsAid.

More In-Depth Involvement

Pick up and deliver donations to the Food Bank, plan a menu and organize a team to prepare and serve a monthly meal at the Shelters, a Sunday-night supper at Christ Center, a lunch at the Catholic Outreach Soup Kitchen. Coordinate and/or be part of a team to participate in the Empty Bowls preparation or the Thanksgiving gift baskets at CMS.
