Operation Christmas Child

Demonstrating God's love in a tangible way to children in need around the world

We encourage both congregational and community members to pack shoeboxes with simple gifts each November, but also to collect gifts and craft year round for unique, meaningful items to add to boxes. You can utilize your own special talents to guide crafters, assist others in packing boxes online if they cannot get out to shop, spread the word of our project to friends and neighbors, participate in a local parade to raise awareness for OCC, or deliver boxes to the local collection site.

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.

This mission is one of loving, giving and discipleship, which can make a critical difference in the life of a child.

Some examples of ways to get involved

Pray for this program at our local, national, and international levels.

Pack a showbox

Every year we pack shoeboxes for a child in need.  Join in and pack a shoebox for collection- or pack one online.

Get creative with your skills

Craft items for our congregation members to add to their boxes.  You can use your unique skills to create unique items to add to the boxes.

Go to Denver to process boxes

Plan a trip to the Denver Processing Center to assist in preparing boxes for shipment in Nov/Dec.  You will be amazed at the efforts of thousands of churches.
