About Monument Presbyterian Church
Monument Presbyterian Church is a vibrant, growing, and multigenerational
congregation located in the Redlands area of Grand Junction, CO. As our mission
states, our goal is to encounter Christ, be shaped by His love, and be sent in His
name. Our community is diverse in age and background, united in the desire to
follow Jesus and serve Him in our local context.
MPC is an active and Spirit-filled church, engaged in local mission, community
service, and a growing range of ministries. We have a flourishing children’s ministry,
an emerging youth ministry, numerous small groups and Bible studies, and a strong
sense of connection. We believe God has good things in store for our church and
community.
Position Overview
The Church Administrator is a key member of the church team, providing
administrative, communications, and organizational support for the church’s ministry.
This role requires initiative, flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to manage a
wide variety of tasks with warmth and professionalism.
Accountability
The Church Adminstrator reports to the Co-Pastors and is accountable to the Session.
Key Qualifications
Skills & Competencies
• Proficient with office software and email (Word, Excel, Google Drive)
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn Canva, Asana, ChurchTrac (or similar
database), and Proclaim presentation software
• Basic graphic design skills preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized; able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy.
• Friendly and professional demeanor—especially on the phone and with visitors.
• Initiative-taker with a “whatever it takes” attitude.
• Financial literacy and basic bookkeeping skills helpful.
• Comfortable in a dynamic environment; adaptable to frequent changes or
interruptions.
• Discreet and trustworthy with sensitive or confidential information.

Primary Responsibilities
Reception & Office Coordination
• Welcome all visitors and answer phone calls with warmth and professionalism.
• Maintain office supply inventory and handle basic troubleshooting for office
equipment.
• Manage incoming and outgoing mail and general office communications.
Administrative & Executive Support
• Maintain and update the church database and physical/digital records.
• Assist with scheduling and coordination for the pastoral staff.
• Support ministry teams by providing information and coordination as needed.
• Handle correspondence and prepare documents and materials for meetings
and classes.
Communications & Publications
• Prepare weekly worship bulletins and special service materials.
• Draft, proofread, and distribute the monthly newsletter.
• Maintain and print the church directory as needed.
• Create flyers, posters, and other communications materials.
• Ensure timely and accurate updates to the church website.
• Manage church-wide announcements across print, digital, and in-person
platforms.
Marketing & Outreach
• Assist in developing a cohesive church marketing plan with pastors and
consultants.
• Create and schedule compelling content for social media and other channels.
• Promote church events and initiatives through digital and print media.
Sunday Worship & Volunteer Coordination
• Prepare and manage slides for Sunday worship in collaboration with staff.
• Coordinate weekly volunteers for Sunday roles and maintain related
schedules.
Financial & Budget Support
• Prepare vouchers and coordinate payment processing with the Church
Treasurer.
• Serve as a liaison between the financial team, Pastor, and ministry leaders.
• Help manage basic financial documentation and understand budget line
items.
Calendar Management
• Maintain and regularly update the master church calendar.
• Prevent scheduling conflicts and ensure calendar events are communicated
clearly in publications and announcements.
Confidentiality & Discretion
The Church Administrator will often be privy to sensitive information regarding
members, staff, finances, and church operations. A high degree of confidentiality and
discretion is essential. The individual in this role must exercise sound judgment,
protect private information, and uphold trust within the church community at all
times.
Evaluations:
Performance reviews will be conducted annually by the Pastor(s) Head of Staff in
coordination with the personnel Committee. The Session Personnel Committee will
review annually the adequacy of the job description and the compensation.
Hours, Salary, and Benefits
The Church Administrator will work Monday-Thursday, 9am-2:30pm & Friday, 9am-
1pm (26 hours) with potential for more hours as the position grows in scope and need.
Salary will range from $22-$25/ hour commensurate on experience.
