Baptism Request

Interested In Being Baptized?

We believe that salvation is found through Jesus Christ alone and that the Bible is God’s trustworthy Word for faith and life. We believe God calls us into a lifelong relationship with Him through grace, not by our own efforts, and that the church is a community where people worship, grow, serve, and share the love of Christ together.

In baptism, we believe God’s grace and promises are visibly proclaimed through water in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We baptize both believers and the children of believing parents as a sign of God’s covenant love and welcome into the church family. Baptism does not save a person on its own, but points to God’s saving work through Jesus and marks a commitment to grow in faith within the life of the church.

To be baptized in the Presbyterian Church, a person or family meets with church leadership to talk about their faith and desire for baptism. Adult candidates are asked to profess faith in Jesus Christ and commit to following Him as a member of the church community. For infant baptism, at least one parent or guardian should be an active member and Christian who promises to raise the child in the faith with the support of the congregation. Because Presbyterians believe baptism is a one-time sign of God’s covenant, we do not rebaptize those who have already received Christian baptism in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
