The care team is a group of the church who, alongside the pastors, responds to the immediate needs of the members of the church who are in crisis. The Care Team focuses on prayer requests, sending cards or phone calls and coordinating needs for visitation or rides for members.
Stephen Ministers are lay congregation members trained to provide one-to-one care to those experiencing a difficult time in life, such as grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness, or relocation.
Stephen Ministers come from all walks of life, but they all share a passion for bringing Christ’s love and care to people during a time of need.

A GriefShare support group offers a safe, welcoming place for people to navigate the difficult emotions of grief alongside others who understand. Over 13 weeks, participants learn what to expect, what’s normal, and practical ways to cope with grief’s unpredictability while receiving steady support.
Each weekly session includes a 30-minute video featuring expert insight and personal stories, followed by group discussion where participants can share and process their experiences. A participant guide helps individuals reflect, apply what they learn, and develop tools for handling grief.
Topics address common challenges such as loneliness, fear, anger, regrets, relationships, and finding hope while honoring a loved one.
GriefShare is offered at Monument Presbyterian Church and is co-facilitated by members of the congregation.
