disaster Relief

Jesus said, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself.”  Matthew 22:37-39

Supporting USA and International Groups Which Provide Disaster and Crisis Response

Response to disasters can include providing food, water, emergency shelter, medicine and supplies of essential basics for those affected. Responses may also involve spiritual support/evangelism and caring for the whole person.

Ways To Get Involved

Pray

When disasters strike, not everyone is able to travel or provide hands-on aid—but everyone can serve through prayer. Prayer is a powerful and meaningful way to stand alongside those who are suffering, lifting up first responders, families who have lost homes, and communities working to rebuild. In prayer, we ask for comfort for the grieving, strength for the weary, and wisdom for those leading recovery efforts.

Serving through prayer also keeps our hearts connected and responsive. It reminds us to stay aware, to give when we can, and to act when opportunities arise. Even from a distance, prayer becomes a quiet but vital form of presence—offering hope, peace, and support in moments when they are needed most.

Volunteer

Volunteer with an organization that directly assists disaster victims. If you’re able to serve on the ground or behind the scenes, your time and skills can make a tangible difference—whether it’s distributing supplies, preparing meals, offering administrative support, or helping with cleanup and rebuilding efforts. These organizations rely on willing hands and compassionate hearts to bring relief and hope to those facing overwhelming loss.

Financial Support

Choose to give as an individual to organizations you trust or to those recommended by the Mission Team. Financial gifts provide immediate, flexible support—helping supply essentials like food, clean water, shelter, and medical care when they’re needed most. They also allow relief organizations to respond quickly and adapt to changing needs on the ground.

Whether your gift is large or small, it becomes part of a greater effort to bring hope and restoration. Thoughtful, prayerful giving ensures that help reaches those who need it most and reminds them they are not alone.

We Promise To....

Become Involved with Christian Based Agencies

We are committed to only be involved with Christian-based relief organizations that serve communities impacted by disasters in the U.S. and around the world.  We look for agencies that demonstrate strong stewardship and transparency, such as those highly rated by Charity Navigator and CharityWatch. Supporting trusted organizations helps ensure that resources are used effectively to bring timely relief, practical help, and lasting hope to those in need.

Volunteer

We will seek opportunities for MPC individuals/groups to become personally involved with disaster relief by volunteering at disaster sites

Financial Support

We will only give to organizations recommended by the Mission Team at MPC. These trusted partners—such as Samaritan's Purse, World Central Kitchen, and Convoy of Hope—are actively providing disaster relief both in the U.S. and around the world. The Mission Team may also recommend additional organizations as needs arise, allowing us to respond thoughtfully and effectively to each situation. Your financial support helps deliver food, emergency supplies, and critical aid quickly to those who need it most.
