Habitat for Humanity is a global nonprofit housing organization working with local
communities in all 50 states in US and approximately 70 countries. Habitat’s
vision is of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. They work toward
their vision by building strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with
families in need of decent and affordable housing. Habitat homeowners help build
their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.
Some Examples of ways to get involved
- Participate in a Work Party Building a House- No skill needed, supervisor on site will instruct you and provide tools for 4 hour shift.
- Donate new and slight used furniture, cars, home accessories, building materials and appliances which are sold to the public at a fraction of the retail price.
- Donate your time and volunteer at the Re-Store
- Financial support-Donations online or locally
- Volunteer for Special Event Planning
